| | MENSAJE BILINGÜE | BILINGUAL MESSAGE Dear Friends, This summer, the National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights and grassroots partners on the borderlands are launching BRIDGE Institutes for Human Rights Leadership, starting at the U.S.-Mexico border. Our 2023 institutes follow in the footsteps of our landmark popular education curriculum, BRIDGE (Building a Race and Immigration Dialogue in the Global Economy). Through this new series, NNIRR is bringing together a cohort of leaders and organizers working on the frontlines of entrenched human rights injustices such as migration, poverty, militarization, detention, and other forms of social and economic injustice. The Institutes will take place in four key migration corridors: El Paso, Marfa/Presidio, Del Rio, and the Rio Grande Valley. Building upon strong cross-sectoral partnerships with labor, climate, environmental, and racial justice leaders, we aim to provide grassroots leaders with the skills and knowledge to anchor human rights and migrant rights organizing in their communities. During these intensive in-person convenings, cohort members will have opportunities for co-learning and skills-building in the following areas: - Human Rights: explore how human rights frameworks can advance local intersectional organizing, solidarity, and grassroots-based activism.
- Base-building: acquire the skills and resources to identify community issues and priorities and catalyze grassroots organizing in the communities most impacted by militarization and poverty.
- Community Mobilization Strategies: learn the foundational skills to impact policy-making and create the synergies between ongoing community-based organizing and electoral work.
- Digital Narrative and Storytelling: develop storytelling and narrative development skills to advance local rights-centered agendas

| Queridos colegas y compañerxs, Este verano, la Red Nacional por los Derechos de los Inmigrantes y los Refugiados en colaboración con organizaciones de base en la frontera, lanzarán los Institutos BRIDGE para el Liderazgo en Derechos Humanos, comenzando en la frontera entre EE. UU. y México. Nuestros institutos de 2023 siguen los pasos de nuestro entrenamiento histórico de educación popular, BRIDGE (Construyendo un Diálogo sobre la Raza y la Inmigración en la Economía Global). A través de esta nueva serie, NNIRR está reuniendo un grupo de líderes y organizadores que se encuentran haciéndole frente a las injusticias arraigadas de derechos humanos como la migración, la pobreza, la militarización, la detención y otras formas de injusticia social y económica. Los institutos se llevarán a cabo en cuatro corredores migratorios clave: El Paso, Marfa/Presidio, Del Río y el Valle del Río Grande en Texas. Tomando como base nuestras alianzas intersectoriales con líderes laborales, climáticos, ambientales y de justicia racial, nuestro objetivo es proporcionar a las y les participantes con las habilidades y el conocimiento necesario para anclar la organización centrada en los derechos humanos y los derechos de los migrantes en sus comunidades. Durante estas reuniones intensivas, les participantes tendrán oportunidades de aprendizaje conjunto y desarrollo de habilidades en las siguientes áreas: - Derechos humanos: explorar cómo los marcos de derechos humanos pueden promover la organización local interseccional, la solidaridad y el activismo de base.
- Construcción de base: desarrollar habilidades y herramientas para identificar los problemas y prioridades de la comunidad y catalizar la organización de base en las comunidades más afectadas por la militarización y la pobreza.
- Estrategias de movilización comunitaria: adquirir las habilidades fundamentales para influir en la formulación de políticas y crear sinergias entre la organización comunitaria y el trabajo electoral.
- Narrativa digital y narración: desarrollar y fortalecer las narrativas comunitarias para avanzar las agendas locales de justicia social.
