I love Arizona. There is a reason I fly back from DC every weekend to be back home. But I have to be honest, there are two things I don’t love about Arizona: Extreme heat and extreme politics.

This month we already had the hottest week on earth in human history. Parts of Arizona have seen 110-degree temperatures every day this month. It’s clear: Arizona is the frontline of the climate crisis.

Election denier Kari Lake is considering a run for Senate. Kelly Cooper, the MAGA Republican I beat last year, is running against me again. And more MAGA Republicans are set to bring their unique brand of extremism and conspiracy theories back to Arizona in 2024.

I’ve had enough of the extremism. I’m tired of GOP politicians denying the realities of climate change while trafficking in conspiracy theories and election denial. I love Arizona, but Arizona has had enough extremism.
