Dear Friend,

Last week, I facilitated a retreat to defend the people's win to end the tipped wage system in DC. Two dozen people come together to protect the Initiative 82 ballot win and support tipped workers.

This spring, the attacks on I-82 increased with a new bill supported by the Restaurant Association. DC JWJ and our coalition members sprung into action. We convened our partners to respond to the bill and at the hearing, we spoke out as workers, organizations, and voters. Last week, we started planning for the long-term. We’re building a campaign to ensure restaurant workers have dignity, respect, and full wages plus tips in Washington, DC. 

That’s what we do at DC Jobs With Justice. Everyday, we fight to make DC a better place to live and work. And often that means responding to new attacks on working people.
