I rarely mince my words when it comes to Donald Trump, friend, so let me say this: every day that he has been in office, Mr. Trump has further destroyed the integrity of the Office of the Presidency.

He has corrupted our democracy and our values. He’s making a mockery of what it means to be an American. Today serves as a stark reminder of just how much work we have to do to restore our founding government to one that’s truly “of, by, and for the people.” 

But our job — our singular task, the most urgent thing on all of our plates — is to end Mr. Trump’s presidency right here, this November. With our votes, we can bring about real change in this country, but it will take a concerted effort. I’m ready to do everything in my power to defeat Mr. Trump and get our country back on track, and I hope you’ll stick with me as we do this work together.
