Today’s SCOTUS majority is the result of decades of Republicans politicizing, delegitimizing, and hijacking the judicial system of our country. And to make things worse, serious ethical violations involving members of the court and their families have been brought to light.
In April 2021 — more than two years ago — Ed first introduced the Judiciary Act, which would add four more justices to the Supreme Court in response to years of unprecedented right-wing overreach. Now, he’s also calling for Congress to pass a binding code of ethics for Supreme Court justices, as well.
Expanding the Court and holding wrongdoing accountable is supported by the vast majority of Democrats and a plurality of voters across the country. It’s the right thing to do, it is popular, and it is urgently necessary.
Senate Democrats have the ability to return legitimacy back to the Court and enforce real ethics on the bench right now — but unfortunately as we’ve seen over the past two years, even when a solution is simple, it is not always easy. That’s why we’re asking you to make your voice heard, especially today:
Add your name to our petition: We must expand the Supreme Court of the United States and begin taking steps toward securing justice for all. [[link removed]]
We cannot allow the far-right to continue using the Supreme Court to dismantle every right and freedom we have. We must fight back.
