Presidents' Day Special:
What Washington, Lincoln and Reagan Said About Faith in a Free Society

Today, Americans observe Presidents' Day, originally established
in 1885 to commemorate the first president of our great country:
President George Washington.

The story of this unique holiday dates back to the earliest days of
our republic. After Washington's death in 1799, his February
22nd birthday would become the iconic day of remembrance.

While several states still have individual holidays honoring the
birthdays of Washington, Abraham Lincoln and other figures,
Presidents' Day is now popularly considered a special time to
celebrate all U.S. presidents, past and present.

In this special NEW episode of Legal-Ease, watch FLI's Lathan
Watts explain the significance of this day as it relates to religious
liberty. He shares how Washington, Lincoln and Reagan all relied on
their religious beliefs as a source of encouragement while leading the
nation through difficult times.

So, take just a moment to learn how our nation's presidents have
publicly acknowledged and written about the central role of faith in a
free society.

Defending the legacy of America's Founders starts by knowing,
loving and living our Constitution.

Today, enemies of freedom mistakenly blame the Constitution for our
nation's problems. But the truth is, our Constitution is not the
problem-it's the solution. Going back to the original
principles and ideals-such as religious liberty-is how we
can continue to keep our country's promise to future
generations.

Let's go back to the original intent of the Founding
Fathers-back to the Constitution.
