Ayanna and Senator Dick Durbin are keeping up the fight to end the death penalty once and for all through their Federal Death Penalty Prohibition Act of 2023.
State-sanctioned murder is not, and never will be, justice.
The death penalty is cruel, inhumane, and deeply flawed, and it has been weaponized disproportionately against Black, brown, and low-income people in this country for too long. That’s why Ayanna is fighting to end it once and for all.
Ayanna has worked for years to put an end to the federal death penalty after it was revived by Donald Trump. Now, she’s reintroducing legislation with U.S. Senator Dick Durbin to end all federal executions.

For 17 years, federal executions were put on pause – an important step towards eliminating the death penalty. But under Trump and Attorney General Bill Barr, federal executions resumed and the methods of killing were even expanded in 2020 — resulting in more people being executed under Trump than any other president in the past 120 years.
The Department of Justice under President Biden paused federal executions in 2021, but we can’t leave the door open for this practice to be restarted again – ever.
Ayanna’s Federal Death Penalty Prohibition Act of 2023 would finally end the death penalty and re-sentence those currently sitting on death row.
It’s time to end the federal death penalty once and for all. If you agree, make a grassroots contribution of any amount today to fuel Ayanna’s work for a more humane, safe, and dignified country for all.
Thanks for supporting Ayanna in this years-long fight to transform our criminal justice system for the better.
In solidarity,
The A-Team
