Eavesdrop on a Chat with Selco and Me

Selco and I were continuing a chat that began in an online group the
other day. The topic was how the US would fare in a quarantine scenario
like the one in China. Would we still have electricity? Internet?
Running water? Trash pick-up?  If so, for how long? Or would everything
grind to a halt?

Our perspectives were pretty different but I thought you guys might find
the conversation interesting. Obviously, this is speculative, based on
research, understanding our own systems, and Selco's own personal
experience.
