John, meet Little Delia. The daughter of Guatemalan immigrants, her family lived above a church in Humboldt Park, and regularly volunteered at their food pantry.
And this immediately sparked Little Delia's passion for public service. At 7 years old, she was listening to people suffering from homelessness tell their stories.
And the rest is history. At 17, she was helping people suffering from homelessness access life-saving benefits. At 35, she became the first Guatemalan American to bring our fight to Springfield.
Now, at 40, I am the first Latina from the Midwest to be elected to Congress. Since, I've been proud to stand up against far-right extremists and be a champion for comprehensive immigration reform, reproductive freedom, and the rights of our working families.
Which is why my seat is a clear target for anti-progressive candidates in 2024. I want to continue being a strong voice for our people, but support from friends and neighbors is essential to keeping my seat. We need your help – will you donate any amount you can spare today? |

Delia Ramirez has dedicated her life and career to advocating for working families. She is an outstanding community leader with experience as CEO of community organizations and has created countless alliances in our communities. As the daughter of Guatemalan immigrants, Delia's values are rooted in effort and service to others.
As the founder and former director of the Center for Changing Lives, chair of the executive board for the Latin United Community Housing Association (LUCHA) and the Logan Square Neighborhood Association (LSNA), Delia has worked for solutions to many complex problems such as affordable housing, education, and criminal justice.
In 2018, Delia ran for and was elected to the House of Representatives in Illinois' 4th District. Since then, she has passed legislation expanding affordable housing, Medicaid coverage for seniors regardless of immigration status, and creating a Chicago school board.
Delia fights every day to break the social obstacles that she and many women face. Her passion is to guide and empower women to achieve leadership opportunities in all sectors.
