Friend, July is Disability Pride Month, a time for us to honor the history, achievements, experiences, and struggles of the disability community.
An estimated 3 to 5 million LGBTQ people in the United States live with disabilities.
People with disabilities have been marginalized and misunderstood for generations, and those who also identify as part of the LGBTQ community experience additional stigma and discrimination. We all need to show up for LGBTQ young people with disabilities.
We are committed to celebrating the power and vibrance of the disability community and the contributions of disabled folks to our collective liberation. Let’s use this month as a platform to amplify the voices and experiences of disabled LGBTQ young people and continue our efforts to create a world that is safe and accessible for everyone.
