John, you can tell a lot about the integrity and values of a politician by the company they keep.
Take Rep. Henry Cuellar (“D”-TX), for example. His campaign is supported by corporate special interests like Big Oil and the private prison lobby, and this weekend Rep. Cuellar became the first-ever Congressional Democrat to be endorsed by the ultra-right-wing Koch political network.1
Now let’s look at his primary challenger, Jessica Cisneros. She’s backed by the Working Families Party, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, AOC, Ayanna Pressley, Julián Castro, and dozens of other progressive leaders, community groups, and organizations.
There’s nothing super complicated here. Right-wing forces like the Koch network are backing Cuellar because they know he’ll do their bidding and try and slow our momentum on policies like a Green New Deal. We need to do everything we can to vote him — and them — out of office.
That’s why, as the Intercept reported this morning, WFP is launching a massive effort to knock on tens of thousands of doors for Jessica Cisneros and score our biggest progressive win yet of 2020.2
Jessica’s primary is just 15 days away, and it’s time to put it all on the line. Can you chip in right now to help us defeat Rep. Cuellar and the billionaire interests he represents?

In case an endorsement from the Koch political network isn’t appalling enough, let’s quickly go over some of the other reasons why Henry Cuellar needs to go:
-
He has an A rating from the NRA.
-
He votes with Trump nearly 70% of the time, according to FiveThirtyEight.
-
He repeatedly voted to support Trump’s racist border wall.
-
He repeatedly voted to defund reproductive services for women.
-
He accepted $166,000 from Big Oil, $32,000 from the private prison lobby, and $10,000 from the Koch brothers.
-
And he used Republican talking points to support Trump’s dangerous, unconstitutional march to war with Iran.
Our organizers on the ground in Texas know that the race is winnable, so long as we ramp up our grassroots organizing.
Can you make a donation today and help us replace this pro-Trump Democrat with a true progressive champion? Jessica's primary is just 15 days away, and we need to leave it all on the field.
Thank you for everything, John. Let’s do this.
