It’s long time we held the Trump administration accountable.

Today marks President’s Day, when we celebrate our country’s great executive leaders. Ironic then that this President’s Day marks the fourth year of President Trump’s term.

President Trump and his administration have stifled the progress this country has made by deploying divisive rhetoric and passing policies that set back women, people of color, students, and middle- and working-class families.

And corporate, establishment Democrats like Richard Neal have allowed Trump and Republicans to skate by with nearly no accountability. Richard Neal was playing by the old rules of Washington D.C., as a result we still don't have the President's tax returns. We need congressional leaders who understand the serious threat that Donald Trump poses to our democracy.

Policies enacted on the federal level influence all of our communities. We have to be able to trust that our national leaders will represent our values and center our needs.

If we continue to have a Congressperson like Richard Neal representing Western and Central Massachusetts, we will give away our voice in Congress and allow corporate special interests to control our narratives.

It’s time to return checks and balances to Washington. We deserve leaders who will be accountable to our communities and who will hold one another accountable. And that leader is not Richard Neal.
