The late Congressman John Lewis – my former colleague and friend – once said, “Your right to vote is precious, almost sacred.”
On a day now known as Bloody Sunday, civil rights protestors, led by Lewis, peacefully crossed the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama. They were marching to demand equal voting rights, but were met with unthinkable violence that forever changed our country.
That’s why as voter suppression bills sweep Republican-led legislatures, I’m proud to support the John Lewis Voting Rights Act.
And today, I need your help in supporting the work of the John and Lilian Miles Lewis foundation. Congressman Lewis created this foundation to carry on his family’s mission of civic engagement and community building.
At this critical moment, on the anniversary of Congressman Lewis’ passing, I’m asking you to pitch in whatever you can to the John and Lilian Miles Lewis foundation.

I was honored to join Congressman Lewis in Selma on the 55th anniversary of Bloody Sunday. But despite the progress we’ve made since then, the march for voting rights must continue. We must work together to continue to carry out Congressman Lewis’ mission.
With the future of our democracy at stake, we’re hoping for a surge of public support for the John and Lilian Miles Lewis foundation. Will you chip in any amount today?
