Join us for a Webinar to Learn More About Self-Managed Abortion |
Dear John,
Join our partners the United State of Women, the Miscarriage and Abortion Hotline, and If/When/How: Lawyering for Reproductive Justice on Wednesday, July 19th at 6pm ET for Self-Managed Abortion On Our Own Terms: Communities of Color and Criminalization. Register for the event today! This webinar will cover: - The barriers communities of color face when accessing reproductive health care
- How a person's intersecting identities can make them vulnerable to an increased risk of prosecution
- The current legal landscape
- Ways you can help your community avoid criminalization
Oftentimes, people who self-manage their abortions are reported to law enforcement by health care providers, social workers, or acquaintances, such as friends, parents, or intimate partners. No one should risk arrest, prosecution, or jail time for self-managing an abortion or assisting others in self-managing their care.
People have always self-managed abortions, regardless of the courts and politics, and will continue to do so with community care and generations of wisdom. We hope you’ll join our partners for this important and timely webinar. |
