John,
Last summer, the Supreme Court handed down the NRA's dream ruling in a case that allowed for dramatic increases in who can carry concealed weapons in public, recklessly endangering countless Americans. Now, the Court has announced they’ll hear their next gun safety case and Brady is fighting to stop another deadly decision.
This time, the Court will consider whether a domestic abuser has the right to own a firearm – and John, the answer to this question is as obvious as it seems: There is a lethal connection between firearms and domestic abuse. In fact, the presence of a gun in a home with a history of domestic violence increases the risk of homicide by 500%.
We won't mince words: if the Supreme Court allows domestic abusers to access firearms, people will die.
Lives are at risk. Gun laws are at risk. We need to do everything in our power to stop another Supreme Court decision in favor of the gun lobby.
This ultra-conservative Court, a majority solidified by former President Trump, has proven they have no issue overturning decades-old precedent when it comes to the Second Amendment. And while our expert team is hopeful that this case will be decided in our favor, we cannot risk standing idly by.
We can't make this decision for the Supreme Court — but we can make it clear that the majority of Americans support bipartisan, common-sense gun safety laws that save lives. That's why we need another 12 responses from your area by midnight tonight, so please tell us before this poll closes:
