Liggett Cigarette Brands Now Subject to Fee in Lieu of Settlement

Minnesota cigarette distributors must begin paying a 50-cent per pack fee in lieu of settlement on all Liggett brand cigarettes received in Minnesota after July 31, 2023.

The fee is due on Liggett brands because the settlement agreement between the state of Minnesota and Liggett has expired.

Begin to report the fee on your August 2023 return due September 18, 2023.
