FL-27 Newsletter Vol. 118, Issue #25 Dear Friends/Amigos, This week I was back in Washington, D.C. defending Florida’s 27th District from the government overreach coming out of the White House and various federal agencies. Worse yet, I’ve found out that some agencies are working to cover up blatant failures associated with their programs. Read more below on how the Small Business Administration’s pandemic-related loan programs are filled with potential fraud. My team and I are working day in and day out to provide my constituents with best-in-class service and communication. Read some testimonials below from constituents who rave about my office’s willingness to help those in my district who need help with federal casework. Call my office at (305) 668-2285 if you live in District 27 and need help with federal casework! It is an honor to serve you in Congress, and please continue to call my office or visit my website to share your thoughts with me. As always, I invite you to connect with me on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, to get the latest from Washington and from across our district. Sincerely/Atentamente, María Elvira Salazar U.S. Representative (FL-27) POTENTIAL FRAUD AT THE SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION This week, I joined my colleagues on the House Small Business Committee in a hearing to examine why the Inspector General of the Small Business Administration (SBA) found $200 billion in potentially fraudulent pandemic-related loans, while Administrator Guzman finds only $36 billion. Worse yet, when we invited her to explain this MAJOR discrepancy, she didn’t even show up! Chairman Williams and I are working hard to make sure American taxpayer dollars are being spent wisely, and not wasted (and covered up!) Watch my remarks from the hearing HERE! DEFENDING ALL OF OUR SOUTH FLORIDA VETERANS I was proud to reintroduce a bipartisan bill to allow all veterans, including those who serve our country valiantly as noncitizens, the dignity to live in the United States free of fear of deportation. The bill would also streamline the naturalization process for those veterans. One thing is clear to me: If you put your life and family on the line in service to our great nation, you deserve to live in dignity. That’s it.
