The little girl in this photo has no clue what a wild ride life has in store for her. Right now, all she knows is the joy of weekend camping with her family, tearing into her mom’s homemade meatballs and begging her dad to buy her a dirt bike.

Her dad raised her on three principles: working hard, being honest and respecting everyone. She spent her life watching him pour his heart into bettering his community, and after she became a first-generation college graduate, she pursued a career in law to protect that community.

She went on to be elected Nevada’s attorney general just as the 2008 financial crisis wreaked havoc on America’s middle-class families and our economy. She took on the Big Banks with a fellow attorney general from California and secured $1.9 billion in relief for Nevada homeowners.

In 2016, she would make history as the first woman from Nevada and first Latina ever elected to the U.S. Senate. The odds were stacked against her, and many said she had no chance of winning. Mitch McConnell and the GOP spent nearly $50 million to defeat her, but her grassroots team stood by her every step of the way.

And in 2022, after every pollster and pundit said she would lose, she defied the odds once again and defeated Trump and McConnell’s top recruit by a single point. Her victory secured Democrats their Senate majority – thanks in large part to grassroots supporters like you.

John, my story is one of community. It made me who I am today, and it’s why I fight so hard for Nevada in the Senate. But I need your help now to ensure that we can continue delivering on progress for the American people. With Republicans in control of the House, the Senate is our last line of defense on critical issues like reproductive freedom, Social Security and Medicare. But our majority is hanging by a thread, and we all need to do our part to protect it.

Please, will you chip in $5 to help us reach our mid-month goal, protect vulnerable Democratic seats in Nevada and across the country and defend our Democratic Senate majority?

¡La lucha sigue! The fight continues!

Catherine

P.S. My dad eventually bought me that dirt bike.
