News from Representative Larson

Dear Friends,

This week, I was proud to reintroduce the Social Security 2100 Act: legislation that will protect and enhance Social Security. 65 million Americans from Connecticut to California and everywhere in-between that rely on Social Security to pay their rent, fill their prescriptions, and buy groceries, yet Congress has not increased benefits in over 50 years.

I was joined by House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jefferies, Ways and Means Ranking Member Richard Neal and other Democratic colleagues to announce this legislation, and you can watch our press conference below.

The Social Security 2100 Act will increase benefits across the board for all Social Security beneficiaries, improve the Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA), repeal the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and Government Pension Offset (GPO), cut taxes for 23 million middle-income beneficiaries, and so much more. You can learn more about the Social Security 2100 Act here.

Rep. John Larson gives remarks with Rep. Jahana Hayes about the Social Security 2100 Act in Connecticut

There are over 147,000 residents in Connecticut’s First District who receive Social Security benefits. I am proud to fight in Washington for current and future beneficiaries to ensure this American program serves our nation for years to come!
