Friend,
If an agency called the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau established a Taskforce on Federal Consumer Financial Law, you’d expect that taskforce to side with consumers, right? Right?
But you’d be wrong. CFPB Director Kathy Kraninger recently tapped Big Corporate consultant Todd Zywicki to lead the taskforce, which she said is supposed to “more effectively carry out our mission of protecting consumers.” But Zywicki once called the entire CFPB a “tragic mistake”...

Kathy Kraninger’s CFPB clearly isn’t in the business of protecting consumers, and this new taskforce is more of a task farce than anything (sorry, we couldn’t resist)!
Zywicki’s record on consumer protection is just abysmal:
- He previously worked as a director at a consulting firm that advised big banks like Citigroup, Visa, and Bank of America on how to make government more corporate-friendly.
- A paper co-written by Zywicki implied that the CFPB shouldn’t take enforcement actions to hold corporations and banks accountable.
- He’s also claimed that the foreclosure crisis that helped spark the 2008 financial crisis was not a “consumer protection problem” and said that borrowers who lost their houses were not “victims.”
Does this sound like a guy who’s going to “more effectively” protect consumers?
We see through this joke of a taskforce and we know you do too.
Add your name to show CFPB Director Kraninger that we can’t be fooled by her charade. We know Zywicki doesn’t have consumers’ best interests at heart >>> [link removed]
