Team — HUGE NEWS: workers in Maine scored a major victory earlier this week as Gov. Mills signed into law funding for a new paid family and medical leave policy for the state!

Make no mistake — this victory was made possible thanks to the hard work of the Maine People’s Alliance and organizers all across the state who collected more than 80,000 signatures to add a measure to the ballot that would enact paid leave policies for workers in the state.

So, we’re calling this a HUGE win for workers as Maine becomes the 13th state to guarantee paid leave to its workers! To capitalize on this momentum and join us in celebrating this major news — will you rush a donation to help us continue powering paid leave campaigns across the U.S. to bring workers the protections they deserve?

DONATE NOW!

Over the last few years we’ve seen workers and union organizers nationwide score some major wins in the fight to further worker protections. Capitalizing on this momentum is essential. After all, it was largely in part because of the action Mainers took that this policy even made it to the legislature — if we can do this in Maine, we know we can accomplish the same history-making progress across the country.

Nearly 40 states still remain without any paid leave protections. Working families deserve better — and we’ve got our work cut out for us to close this gap! Will you rush a donation to help us power more ballot measure campaigns in 2023 + 2024 to give workers the paid leave policies they deserve?
