The Trump administration is considering a new refugee ban that would bar any new refugees from coming to America next year. At a time when children like Rani* are fleeing their countries, we should not be shutting our country’s doors to those seeking safety here. Please speak out against this ban today!

John -

The Trump administration is considering setting America’s refugee cap to zero next year.[1] The U.S. has long been a beacon of hope for the millions of children and families trying to escape war and persecution. Taking in those in need is more important now than ever before as the world is facing its largest crisis of displaced people since World War II.

Today, is the Rise for Refuge day of action. All around our country, everyday Americans are speaking out to say refugees should be welcome here.

Will you join this national day of action by speaking out against this cruel refugee ban!

Little Rani’s family fled their home in Syria when he was just 2 months old. He is one of the 70 million refugees – more than half of whom are children – around the world who have been forced to flee their homes in search of safety.

The United States should continue to show humanitarian leadership by providing refuge to the most vulnerable. Welcoming refugees sends a strong message– the United States is a leader for liberty in the world.

Refugees go through extensive vetting. A refugee’s identity is checked against law enforcement and intelligence databases of at least five federal agencies, a process that takes nearly two years. If there is any doubt about who a refugee is, he or she is not admitted into the U.S.

Instead of closing America’s doors we should increase the refugee cap to allow more children and families to find safety here.

Please urge Congress and the president to reject the refugee ban and raise the refugee cap today!

Thank you for being a voice for kids,
