Folks, 

I’m sure you receive a LOT of fundraising emails in your inbox. And I’m sure most of them sound alarmist and tell you that if you don’t donate right away, the sky will fall.

I like to take a more honest approach in my campaign. Yes, fundraising is important, and I will ask for your support, but I’m not going to lie to you and tell you that if we don’t reach our goal, we’re “doomed.”

Trust me, I haven’t run in this historically battleground district for 3 cycles to give up that easily.

But if I’m being totally transparent, it’s not the best feeling when we don’t reach our goals — especially when we come up only a few hundred dollars short.

Tonight is our mid-month deadline and it would mean a lot to me if we raise $2,000 by midnight. Because even though the sky won’t collapse if we don’t, the more resources we raise, the stronger chance we have at keeping far-right extremist agendas out of Michigan.
