Over the past few weeks, the House GOP has repeatedly voted to strip reproductive healthcare from veterans and active duty service members.

First, they approved a budget that would prohibit abortion care at VA healthcare facilities. The Senate blocked it, but now the far right is pushing to get it back on the table as McCarthy negotiates the 2024 budget. This would strip reproductive freedom from the 2 million women veterans who rely on the VA.

Now, they’re trying to sneak an amendment into the defense bill that would restrict active-duty service members from taking leave for abortion care. That’s right: the GOP wants to rip away reproductive freedom from active duty troops and veterans.

These recent steps from the GOP show how vital it is to elect pro-choice leaders in the post-Roe era. Reproductive rights remain under attack from the extreme right – but Rep. Eric Sorensen will do everything in his power to defend them, especially those who put their lives on the line for our country.
