Dear Friend,

For the past three years, Joe Biden has politicized the military by weaponizing it to fight culture wars. This week, the Republican led House of Representatives delivered on our promise to strengthen our military by passing the strongest defense bill in recent memory.

As I have long said, our military should be focused on defending the American people. The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) we passed yesterday does just that by:

Strengthening our Military Readiness:

  • Increases funding for military exercises.
  • Requires the Space Force to implement a plan to share threats from China and other adversaries.
  • Limits the ability of the Biden Administration to retire certain nuclear weapons.

Countering the Chinese Communist Party:

  • Rejects the Biden administration’s effort to reduce the size of the Navy.
  • Increases funding for innovative new technologies needed to deter the CCP on future battlefields.
  • Increases funding for military information operations assistance to Indo-Pacific allies to counter Chinese influence operations.

Ending Wokeness in our Military:

  • Halts the Navy’s promotion of a drag queen as a “Digital Ambassador."
  • Includes a Parents Bill of Rights to ensure parents of children in DoD schools have the right to review curriculum, books, and instructional materials; meet with teachers; and provide consent before any medical exams or screenings by the school.
  • Requires DoD to report to Congress on how much time and taxpayer dollars have been wasted on CRT training.

District Updates

Passport Issues:

A short while ago, Secretary Antony Blinken testified before the House Appropriations Committee
about the “dramatic” increase in passport requests, noting that the State Department is “getting
500,000 applications a week for passports." As a result of this severe agency delay, our office is receiving an uptick in passport cases.

If you are a constituent of Maryland's First District and are experiencing passport delays, please do not hesitate to reach out to my office and we will contact the State Department to request immediate review and processing of delayed applications.

New Boating Regulations:

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is considering changes to boating regulations that would affect parts of the Eastern shore, Harford County, Somerset County, and Worcester County.

If you wish to request a boating regulation change, please fill out one of the forms below. Comments on the ideas presented provide the department with invaluable information and perspectives that may be incorporated into changes.

In The News

The Facts About Bidenomics:

Recently, President Biden spoke in Chicago outlining the so-called successes of “Bidenomics” but the actual results of "Bidenomics" have been devasting to the American people and economy.

Here are the Facts:

  • Prices have risen by 16.6% since Biden took office.
  • Real wages are 3% lower than when Biden took office.
  • Families have paid more than $10,000 since Biden took office to afford the same goods under the increased cost of living.
  • Gas prices haven't dropped below $3 since Biden took office.
  • More than 80% view the economy as “negative” and say Biden’s policies have done them no good.

The Bottom Line: Bidenomics is crushing American families by raising costs and limiting American economic growth. Inflation is still a major problem in the U.S., especially food inflation, and we must put a stop to the wasteful government spending that is causing it.
