I can’t do any of this on my own.

Dick Durbin

John,

When I flew back this week from an official trip overseas, I made the same trek my grandmother and mother did years ago when they came from Lithuania to the United States, pursuing a better life.

I couldn’t help thinking about the promise of America that led my family to this country, as well as the responsibility we have to make good on that promise, rather than risk letting it slip away.

In Washington, I’m working for comprehensive immigration reform so that people like my mother can pursue the American dream. I’m pushing for urgent action to stop gun violence in our communities and to lower health care costs for our families. And as Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, I’m making it a top priority to do what the Chief Justice has failed to do and finally create an enforceable code of conduct for the Supreme Court.

I take my role as Senator very seriously — but the honest truth is that I can’t do any of this on my own. I need folks just like you, who believe in the promise of this country, right alongside me.

Please donate anything you can to help meet our July goal and keep up the fight.

My best,

Dick Durbin
