The extreme right-wing Supreme Court ruling that overturned Roe v. Wade
has emboldened MAGA Republicans in Congress to advocate for an outright
national abortion ban.
First, Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito undid abortion rights in America.
Now, MAGA extremists in Congress like Lindsey Graham and Elise Stefanik
are pushing for a total ban. Rep. Stefanik recently talked up a GOP plan
for a national abortion ban at a gathering of anti-abortion extremists.^1
Congress cannot let MAGA Republicans implement even more extreme abortion
restrictions.

Since the Dobbs decision overturning Roe, there have been dangerous GOP
attacks on abortion medication, the passage of more restrictive
state-level abortion laws, and flat out MAGA misinformation campaigns
about abortion care. This will only get worse if there’s not a fierce,
unrelenting opposition to the GOP’s war on abortion care and bodily
autonomy.
We cannot allow right-wing judges like Clarence Thomas, governors like Ron
DeSantis, and GOP state legislatures to continue to drastically restrict
abortion care in America. And we must not allow Congress to join these
extremist ranks with a national abortion ban.
