The National Defense Authorization Act is a critical investment in our national security, our servicemembers, and their families. This year's NDAA takes significant strides in modernizing our armed forces, bolstering our military readiness, and enhancing our defense capabilities. Importantly, this bill reins in the Biden administration’s “woke” policies that are actively harming military readiness, such as Green New Deal mandates, unnecessary Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) officers, and wasting taxpayer dollars on sex reassignment surgeries and gender hormone treatments. This bill also bans funding for drag shows or Drag Queen Story Hour and implements important oversight measures over our aid to Ukraine.
Additionally, the FY24 NDAA includes the largest salary increase for our servicemen and servicewomen in the last 20 years at 5.2%. This reaffirms our commitment to our servicemembers and their families and ensures they have the resources they need to carry out their missions effectively. I was disappointed to see my Democratic colleague’s decision to betray the longstanding tradition of strong bipartisan support for the NDAA and our military.
Despite the Democrats’ attempts to block this important legislation, House Republicans delivered on our Commitment to America. I will continue to advocate for all our servicemembers and their families, especially those stationed at Fort Drum, Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station, and throughout New York’s 24th Congressional District. The passage of the FY24 NDAA through the House demonstrates House Republicans’ unwavering commitment to national security, our servicemembers, and the defense of our great nation. I look forward to working with my colleagues in the Senate to ensure its swift passage into law and give our Armed Forces the resources they need to continue to defend and protect our freedom!

As the founder and co-chair of the Election Integrity Caucus, I am fighting to stop partisan bureaucrats and big tech oligarchs from interfering in our election process. This week, the House Administration Committee marked up the ACE Act, which includes two of my bills. The first bill, the End Zuckerbucks Act, would prohibit big tech billionaires from spending millions of dollars improperly influencing election administrators and the election process. The Promoting Free and Fair Elections Act ends Biden’s federal election takeover by requesting the repeal of Executive Order 14019. By passing this bill, we are taking a strong step towards restoring transparency and confidence in our democratic process. The Election Integrity Caucus and House Republicans are committed to making it easier to vote and harder to cheat.

The BDS movement promotes and normalizes anti-Semitism by choosing to single out the world’s only Jewish State while ignoring the human rights violations by countries like China, North Korea, and Iran. Not a dime of American taxpayer dollars should go to support entities that seek to delegitimize one of our strongest allies and endorse the blatantly anti-Semitic BDS movement. That's why I introduced the Countering Hate Against Israel by Federal Contractors Act to prevent the federal government from entering into contracts with entities that support the radical, anti-Semitic BDS movement targeting Israel. With over two-thirds of states adopting laws opposing the BDS movement, it is time for the federal government to do so at the federal level. If we enacted the Countering Hate Against Israel by Federal Contractors Act, we would send a powerful message that we stand firmly against anti-Semitism and efforts to delegitimize one of our greatest allies.

It's Not Too Late: Schedule Your DC Tour Today!
|
|
Are you planning to travel to our nation's capital this summer? My team would love to assist you in planning tours of some of our nation's greatest monuments!
Tours of the Capitol Building are fully reopened Monday-Saturday. While the White House requires 21 days' minimum notice to accommodate any tour requests. Availability for both of these tours are extremely limited. I urge you to reach out to my office as soon as possible regarding all future tour requests. You can do so by accessing my tour request portal here.
While my office may be unable to secure a tour for all the sites you have selected, given the high demand and currently limited availability, there are a number of locations that remain available for public tours. I urge you to visit house.gov for more information regarding these opportunities. Such locations include the Supreme Court and the National Archives, which you can view here and here. You may also wish to register to receive your very own library card through the Library of Congress, which you can do so here. I would also suggest you contact your U.S. Senators, as they too accommodate tour requests.
Rest assured that my office will do all it can to accommodate as many requests as possible. We appreciate your understanding in this matter and wish all visitors a safe and pleasant trip to Washington, D.C.
