Gov. Jim Justice welcomed Sen. Shelley Moore Capito and NTIA Administrator Alan Davidson to discuss the recent procurement of $1.2 billion in funding through the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program.
This funding, administered by the NTIA, will accelerate West Virginia's broadband expansion and provide high-speed internet access for over 270,000 unserved locations.

Gov. Justice announces over $18 million in ARC grant award recommendations for projects across West Virginia

Gov. Justice announced over $18 million in Appalachian Regional Commission grant funding recommendations for 11 projects across West Virginia.
The Appalachian Regional Commission ([link removed]) (ARC) is an economic development partnership agency of the federal government and 13 state governments across the Appalachian region. ARC’s mission is to innovate, partner, and invest to build community capacity and strengthen economic growth in Appalachia.

“These upgrades are going to be phenomenal, and we really appreciate the Appalachian Regional Commission for giving us the ability to recommend and give these grants to these communities throughout West Virginia,” Gov. Gov. Justice announced the West Virginia Governor’s Highway Safety Program (GHSP) is teaming up with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to remind motorists and motorcyclists to slow down and obey posted speed limits when traveling on West Virginia’s roads.
Speeding is a dangerous, illegal, and aggressive behavior responsible for more than one-quarter of all traffic-related fatalities nationally and nearly one-quarter of roadway fatalities in West Virginia.
