In 2010 Caroline Lucas made history when she was elected the country’s first Green MP.

Since then, she has built a remarkable legacy, holding successive Governments to account and progressing social and climate justice at constituency, national and European level.

As the contest for a new parliamentary candidate for Brighton Pavilion draws to a close, we must ramp up our efforts to elect the next generation of Green MPs.

We urgently need to elect Green MPs, not just in Brighton but in Bristol, Waveney Valley and North Herefordshire, to re-establish trust in politics and build a fairer greener country, in what is a critical decade for the planet.
