Hi ,

As we head into a hot weekend, I want to make sure you have the information you need for increasing temperatures and ways to stay safe.

Cooling centers for our most vulnerable:
Temperatures are high and rising this weekend. And for those without access to air conditioning — especially for seniors and people with serious health conditions — high temperatures can pose serious risks.

Los Angeles has activated cooling centers in areas expecting high temperatures. Cooling centers will be open Friday, July 14th through Monday, July 17th. The advisory ends on Monday, July 17 at 11PM.

Augmented cooling centers with extended hours will be open over the weekend at the following Recreation and Parks facilities Friday, July 14th to Monday, July 17 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
* Fred Roberts Recreation Center 4700 Honduras St. Los Angeles, CA 90011
* Mid Valley Senior Center 8825 Kester Ave. Panorama City, CA 91402
* Highland Park Recreation Center6150 Piedmont Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90042
