[[link removed]]Starving.

Grieving.

And just one oil spill away from EXTINCTION.

Endangered Southern Resident orcas are suffering, and Big Oil and shipping
megaprojects are threatening the LAST 75 that are left on this planet. They are
putting their profits over the survival of the only endangered species of killer
whales in the United States. What’s worse is that these orcas are starving and growing weaker by the day. But two proposed megaprojects threaten to seal their DEATH SENTENCE. Help protect these 75 remaining orcas and our planet by standing up to
corporate greed and donate $27 or more today in honor of World Orca Day. When
you do, your gift will be MATCHED, dollar for dollar, up to our $90,000 goal –
but only until midnight TONIGHT.

These Southern Resident orca pods suffered devastating blows with the deaths of
Cappuccino, Marina, and Ripple. Cappuccino was a playful orca who greeted nearby
boaters in his waters and was beloved by the community. Ripple’s birth was a
marker of hope for the future of his family. And Marina was an iconic matriarch
who cared for her grandchildren and taught them how to hunt and survive. Their
deaths are an excruciating loss to the remaining orcas -- and the grief is driving them further into starvation.

Each Southern Resident orca is an integral member of their family. Every loss is
felt by the entire pod. But Big Oil and the shipping industry are threatening
them all with proposed megaprojects that would directly impact their habitats
and drive them to EXTINCTION.

Big Oil and the shipping industry are contributing to Southern Resident orcas
starving to death. Help us fight for their protection and the ecosystems they
rely on with your $27 donation before the clock strikes midnight!

[[link removed]]Southern Resident orca populations have been declining for the last 17 years.
Key drivers to their extinction are tied to pollution and lack of food. Their
main food source is Chinook salmon, which were once abundant in their
ecosystems. But the salmon have declined so much in the last decade that they
are now considered endangered themselves. This is leading Southern Resident orcas to starvation, stress, and miscarriages.

The two proposed megaprojects would take things from bad to worse. The Roberts Bank T2 shipping terminal project would significantly increase
cargo ship traffic and scare away Chinook salmon from orca habitats. The resulting noise
from the massive cargo ships will also disrupt the orcas’ sonar hunting methods,
disorienting and preventing them from finding the few salmon left in the region.

The expanded Trans Mountain Pipeline will also increase oil tanker traffic in
Southern Resident critical habitat SEVEN-FOLD -- from one tanker a week to one
per day! Worst of all, it will also be pushing millions of gallons per day of toxic tar sands oil -- the dirtiest kind – out in oil tankers through this already delicate orca habitat.

The endangered Southern Resident population is just one oil spill away from
extinction. And we know that when you move oil, oil spills are practically a
GUARANTEE. It’s only a matter of time, Friend. This is
why we need to raise our voices and stand up to Big Oil and the shipping
industry, showing them that we will not allow them to put private profit over
the lives of precious wildlife and the ecosystems that rely on them.

Southern Resident orcas are one oil spill away from EXTINCTION. Fight the
megaprojects that threaten their existence and our planet with your contribution
of $27 or more now while you can make twice the impact.

[[link removed]]Orcas are crucial to a thriving ocean habitat, combating the worst effects of
climate change, and benefit our own health. They release vital nutrients for
phytoplankton, which then provide half of the oxygen we breathe while absorbing hundreds of thousands of
tons of carbon each year. We depend on this flow of nutrients for healthy ecosystems and a functioning
planet, which is why we must protect these orcas at all costs.

Each death in these pods reduces the chances that the remaining orcas survive.
With Marina’s death, her children are now three times more likely to die, while her grandchildren
are SIX TIMES less likely to survive. With these 75 precious lives at stake and at increased risk, we need to step up our fight to
protect them.

Southern Resident orcas are in perilous danger. You and I may be some of the
last people to share the planet with these magnificent creatures if these
disastrous megaprojects are allowed to move forward. That is why we need you by
our side,Friend.

Your membership gift of $27 or more to Friends of the Earth will allow us to
fight these projects and the threats to our planet. Make your contribution now,
while orcas still have a fighting chance!

Cappuccino, Marina, and Ripple are dead. Don’t let their surviving family
members meet the same fate. Make your contribution of $27 or more to Friends of
the Earth before the clock strikes midnight and make twice the impact!
