Families can now replace food and cash assistance benefits stolen through electronic benefit transfer (EBT) fraud schemes. Households that participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program, and the General Assistance (GA) program can now request reimbursement for benefits that were stolen electronically on or after October 1st, 2022.

Lithium-ion batteries power smartphones, laptops, portable speakers, e-bikes and many other devices. While safe to use, they can pose risks when exposed to high temperatures or handled improperly. Lithium-ion batteries can overheat, catch on fire, and even explode when they are damaged or when they are improperly used, charged, or stored. Lithium-ion battery fires pose a high risk of serious injury or death.

As required by federal law, representatives of NJ FamilyCare are in the process of contacting members to conduct eligibility reviews. Members should expect to be contacted no later than March 30th, 2024.
