John, a while back, I went through some old childhood photos, and I wanted to share this one with you:
This photo made me smile — and not just because of the funky 70s decor!
Seeing my family and I sitting at the dining table together brought back so many memories, and reminded me of why I originally ran for office. Let me explain:
Growing up, my parents did everything they could to put food on the table and set their children up for success — but like many families, we went through periods of financial uncertainty. At some points, we relied on support from our community church and food stamps to get by.
And that’s to no fault of my parents or folks like them, but rather to issues that make it so Arizonans have to work multiple jobs to get by, or work 40+ hours a week and still not know how they’re going to pay their bills.
I knew that the best way to guarantee change was to be the change, and so I ran for office — and I haven’t lost an election since.
Now, I’m working every day to right the wrongs of past elected officials and build an Arizona that works for everyone and supports folks from all walks of life.
But this work doesn’t come without its challenges — while I’m busy trying to deliver solutions to our most pressing issues, extreme Republicans are determined to take away our reproductive freedom, restrict our voting rights, and cause chaos.
That’s why I need your help. Can you support my work by pitching in $10 or any amount today ahead of our first mid-month deadline of the new quarter?
