Press Release: Rep. Loudermilk on Final Passage of FY24 NDAA

Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) issued the following statement after the House passed the Fiscal Year 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The NDAA sets Department of Defense (DoD) policies and authorizes funding levels for U.S. defense programs. 
 
“House Republicans today passed an NDAA that increases our military’s lethality and decreases the wokeness that has been infused in its ranks in recent years. This bill also ensures our military are better equipped and trained to combat Russian and Chinese aggression during these dangerous times.

Press Release: Rep. Loudermilk, House Republicans Introduce Legislation to Protect Investors’ Personally Identifiable Information

Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) issued the following statement after he introduced the Protecting Investors’ Personally Identifiable Information Act, H.R. 4551:

 

“The federal government has two huge problems when it comes to cyber security: they collect way too much personally identifiable information (PII), and they have a poor track record of protecting this information from hackers. Look no further than the 2021 SolarWinds hack, which saw more than 30,000 public and private organizations breached and is considered one of the largest cyber hacks in modern history.

•    Saves you money.  Why go in debt when you can get PAID to learn?  According to a recent Forbes article (https://www.forbes.com/advisor/student-loans/average-student-loan-debt-statistics/), Georgia ranks #3 in the top five states in the Nation with the highest student loan balance currently at an average of $40,268.87.   

 

•    Job security.  Across the nation there are thousands of industries with a growing labor crisis.  Workers are retiring and for every four workers who retire, only one is taking their place leaving. There is said to be almost 3 million trade jobs available in the US.

 

•    Great salary.  According to ZipRecruiter (https://www.ziprecruiter.com/Salaries/Skilled-Trade-Salary--in-Georgia), the average skilled trade salary in Georgia is $25.85/hr. or approximately $51,000/year.  However, that amount can increase dramatically as you gain experience.
