Friend — In the final days of their latest session, the Supreme
Court's right-wing majority dropped their decisions on three life-altering
cases affecting discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community, affirmative
action in higher education, and student debt relief.
We cannot allow the Supreme Court's assault on Americans' basic rights and
liberties to go unanswered. We need your help to escalate our campaign for
fair courts and judges. That’s why I’m excited to share that, for the next
week only, your gift can be matched to go 2x as far to power our
campaigns. [ [link removed] ]Can we count on you to make a matched
gift before the July
21st deadline?

Why do these cases matter? In just a few days, the Supreme Court’s
right-wing majority decided to:
1. Strike down affirmative action efforts in higher education, reversing
access to higher education to communities of color and harming our
entire society by severely limiting our ability to benefit from the
contributions of students from all backgrounds.
2. Grant license to discriminate against LGBTQ+ people, setting a harmful
precedent for all minority groups and putting the LGBTQ community at
risk of exacerbated prejudice.
3. Cancel student loan relief for over 40 million lower-income borrowers,
disproportionately affecting Latino and Black borrowers, many of whom
would have had their entire student debt relieved.
The radical right-wing majority’s rulings in these cases are direct
attacks on the rights of millions of us around the country. They are an
affront to what ties Americans together: the freedom to be who we are and
pursue our individual versions of life and liberty.
While we are outraged by these outcomes, we can’t say we are surprised.
The Trump administration, fueled by the Far Right, made it their priority
to stack the courts in their favor with judges who are not here to protect
us.
With your support, we’ve already helped confirm nearly 140 fair-minded
judges during the Biden administration but there are still almost 90
vacancies across the federal judiciary at the district and circuit court
levels.
Fair judges like Rachel Bloomekatz, nominee for the Sixth Circuit, are up
for consideration. Rachel is a public interest lawyer and award-winning
litigator. She has devoted her career to advancing voting rights, workers’
and consumers’ rights, gun safety, public health, and civil rights. We are
confident that her confirmation will make a difference in the lives of
people throughout America and in the fight to strengthen our democracy.

to fight for fair courts and ensure justice for all of us >>
Together, we will achieve a world where courts work for us, not against
us.
I’m so glad to be in this fight with you.
