** Meet Sonja Nichols: Entrepreneur, Author, Leader

Members & Friends of the Meck YR's,
This has been a exciting year of growth for the Meck YRs! With that expansion comes logistical challenges. For the past few years we have been fortunate to meet each month at Dilworth Neighborhood Grill but, for special events where we expect larger turnouts, we're experimenting with alternative locations to accommodate our group. For those that attended our monthly meeting last week we would like to apologize for the lack of space and audio difficulties. We had a fantastic speaker, but unfortunately were unable to truly give you the experience you have come to expect from our group. We will work to make sure it does not happen again. That being said, this month we are returning to Dilworth Neighborhood Grill at 6:30 for our regularly scheduled meeting on August 27th and will not be charging for the meeting.
Our speaker will be Ms. Sonja Nichols. Sonja Nichols is an entrepreneur, accomplished business woman, published author, trusted advisor, and an active civic and community leader. A longtime supporter of the military and its service members, Ms. Nichols saw the decreasing size of America’s Armed Forces as a business opportunity. Understanding the extensive training, discipline, and professionalism possessed by U.S. military service members, she founded Nicholant, a Private Protective Services Company, and staffed it entirely with top quality military veterans.
Prior to starting Nicholant Enterprises, she served as a Systems Engineer with IBM and as a marketing representative for PepsiCo. Ms. Nichols is a graduate of Florida A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and an MBA in Marketing and Computer Information Systems.
Relishing her role as a wonderful wife and mom, Sonja is very happily married to the fabulous Richard Nichols Jr. (30+ years) and they have three wonderful children - Richard III, James, and Kayla Marie.
