Some days you just don’t have time to go to the gym, and it’s too hot to go for a run or bike ride outside. The good news is that almost everything you need to get in a good workout is right there at home. To build strength, cardiovascular health, and functional fitness, there are plenty of bodyweight exercises that can do the trick. And if you’re looking for more of a challenge, you can incorporate additional weight by grabbing the nearest heavy household object (a jug of water, a toddler). Most important, you don’t have to do these exercises strung together as a full workout to make an impact. Consistently spend a few minutes between work-from-home tasks doing lunges or challenge the kids to a push-up contest, and you’ll be much healthier than if you didn’t put in the effort. |
