MEETING WITH THE IOWA SOYBEAN ASSOCIATION

On Wednesday, I welcomed the Iowa Soybean Association to my office to discuss priorities vital to our soybean farmers in the 4th District.

We covered the upcoming Farm Bill, the importance of robust crop insurance protections, potential new export markets for soybeans, and voluntary conservation programs.

This week, I helped introduce legislation alongside Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI) and the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party to protect American farmland from foreign acquisition and keep American farmland where it rightfully belongs — in the hands of American farmers.

INTRODUCING LEGISLATION TO OPEN NEW EXPORT MARKETS FOR IOWA FARMERS AND PRODUCERS

This week, I introduced the Fortifying Refrigeration Infrastructure and Developing Global Exports (FRIDGE) Act. This bill will help develop crucial infrastructure, including cold chain storage facilities, to ensure that we can ship Iowa beef, chicken, turkey, pork, grains, specialty crops and other perishables worldwide.

While the Biden Administration refuses to negotiate new trade agreements and help our farmers access foreign markets, I will continue to do everything in my power to support our producers and end our reliance on only a handful of export markets.
