Team,
Since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and shredded a fundamental right for women to determine their bodily autonomy, states across the country have continued to attack women’s freedoms. The result? More and more women have to travel across state lines to access reproductive health care.
But anti-choice states like Tennessee, Texas and Missouri are attempting to punish women for crossing state lines for care – and threatening to penalize the doctors and employers who help them. My legislation, the Freedom to Travel for Health Care Act, would block anti-choice states from punishing travel for abortion services.
If one state wants to ban abortions, we need to defend the rights of other states to provide the care women need.
I’ll be sure to keep you updated on this legislation as I continue to fight for women's reproductive freedoms in the Senate.
Thank you,
Sheldon
