John -- my friend and colleague Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester announced her campaign for the open U.S. Senate seat in Delaware.

This race has the potential to be historic and I want to help Lisa get her campaign off to a strong start. Will you split a contribution between her campaign and mine?

Lisa made history as the first Black person and the first woman to represent Delaware in Congress when she was first elected to the House. 

Now, she can make history again as the first Black person and first woman to represent her state in the Senate. If she wins, she would be the third-ever Black woman elected to the Senate.

I’ve worked directly with Lisa to reduce gun violence in our communities, and she’s strong on other issues this team is passionate about: broadband expansion, voting rights, clean drinking water, and affordable health care.

Lisa is the right person for the job, but political experts predict a tough cycle for Democrats -- especially in the Senate -- so it’s critical we give good candidates like Lisa our support.
