Minnesota's Legislative Session Begins - Here's What You Can Do

Editor's Note: Our apologies that the Wrap was delayed. You can
normally expect it on Friday afternoons/evenings.

Tuesday marked the beginning of the legislative session and that
morning almost 100 people joined Minnesota Family Council in the
Capitol rotunda to pray for our lawmakers and the great state of
Minnesota! Pastor Jeff Evans, Director of Minnesota's Church
Ambassador Network (CAN) also announced that CAN would be giving
personalized bibles to each legislator. Check out the video here. What
a great start to the session! As we kick things off at the Capitol,
it's important to remember why the legislative session
matters.

It is during the legislative session that our elected leaders make
changes to the law, both for good and for bad. Because of this, we
commit to being at the Capitol every day of the session fighting for
life, family, and religious freedom.

Every life matters, and our state policies should reflect that. This
is why we work to protect the unborn and to reflect God's good
design for family and sexuality. We believe that our work is vital,
and we know that we can't do it alone. This is where you come
in. During this legislative session, we're asking you to do
three things.

First, pray. Please pray for us and for your elected officials during
the legislative session. Pray for pastors who are connecting with
Minnesota lawmakers, that God would open doors, soften hearts, and
strengthen and encourage His followers. And pray that God would be
glorified in the state of Minnesota and that we would become a state
where life is cherished and God's design for marriage and family
is realized.

Second, act. Your involvement matters! As important issues come up
during the session, we will alert you of actions that you can take to
speak up in defense of life, family, and religious freedom.

And finally, your generous support is what makes our work possible.
Would you consider partnering with us financially during this
legislative session as we work to engage the culture and advance
biblical truth in our state? Click here to partner with us.

You Can Defend Life, Family, and Religious Freedom by Participating in
Precinct Caucuses - FEBRUARY 25

Screen Shot 2020-02-07 at 12.54.51 PM.png

On Feburary 25th, you'll have a chance to impact our state by
participating in party caucuses. This is a wonderful
opportunity to love our neighbors and to be "salt and light" for the
direction of a political party and the selection of candidates for
office at the most basic level. When we as Christians bring our
convictions of life, family, and religious freedom to
the caucus process, we have a real chance of improving the
political discourse in our state - and I think we can all agree that
it must be improved!

Just a few things to note before we get started: first, unlike in past
years, the presidential straw poll will not take place during the
caucus. Instead, Minnesota will hold a presidential primary
on March 3.

Second, this year, your participation is crucial. Some folks
in our state want to remove all references to protecting life and
family and advocating for religious freedom from the GOP party
platform - the only major party platform that still
pledges support for those most fundamental values. If you
consider yourself a Republican, your participation in your local
caucus is the only thing that will ensure this doesn't happen.
Because, as Minnesotans, we value life, family, and religious
freedom. On February 25th, we have a chance to put that into
action. Are you ready? Let's get started!

for our biggest event of the year - our annual dinner with
pro-life superstar Abby Johnson. Abby's work with And Then There Were
None, a charity that helps abortion workers leave the industry, has
been hugely successful. And her new initiative, Love Lines, gives
financial support to women who choose LIFE.

But her story began in 2009, when she was a clinic director for
Planned Parenthood and had to witness, for the first time, an
ultrasound-guided abortion. With horror, she saw for the first time
what abortion really is: the killing by dismemberment of a baby. She
walked away and has been working to save lives ever since. Her
book Unplanned was turned into one of last year's most
surprising hit movies.

And she's coming to Minneapolis in May. Will you join us for our
Annual Dinner with Abby Johnson? Click below to register
now!

We expect this event to fill up, so make sure to register as soon as
you can.
