John,
Congress has just two weeks left before they leave town for August recess. And, while high-priced Wall Street and corporate lobbyists are fighting for tax breaks and for weakening IRS enforcement of tax cheats, we’re fighting for critical funding for human needs.
We know that communities thrive when children and families have enough to eat, when people have stable housing, adequate health care, and when we fully invest in education. But, the caps and cuts proposed by Congress undermine important investments in our communities.
The right-wing would rather pass even more tax breaks for their wealthy donors―their latest package would cost more than $1 trillion. And they have voted repeatedly this year to undermine IRS funding that we won last year to help the agency better serve everyday taxpayers and crack down on rich tax cheats.
Rush a donation today to fight back against attempts to undermine critical human needs funding, just to hand even more tax breaks to the wealthy and corporations.

Thank you for holding Congress accountable to everyday people as we demand investments in communities, not corporations and wealthy investors.

John,
From attempting to cut IRS funding meant to crack down on wealthy and corporate tax cheats to proposing a tax package that hands more than $1 trillion to the rich, corporations, and foreign investors, too many in Congress are putting their wealthy donors ahead of the needs of everyday people.
The House Appropriations Committee has also voted to cut hundreds of millions of dollars from the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). And, the caps and cuts agreed to in the debt ceiling hostage-taking will cause real harm to millions of people with low incomes, people with disabilities, children, and vulnerable communities.
Congress is rushing to finalize their spending proposals before they leave on August recess. Rush a donation today to fight back against cuts to the IRS in bills that starve funding for the investments in food assistance, housing, education, health and all the other basic services we need.

Just this week, the House is voting on an $886 billion Pentagon budget, of which roughly half will go to military contractors.
According to the Institute for Policy Studies, if the U.S. were to cut just 10% of the military budget we could fund 10.95 million housing units for one year, or 8.45 million Head Start slots for low-income children, or low-income health care for 32.04 million children or 18.64 million adults.[1]
We need Congress to prioritize everyday people, not the wealthy, corporations, and military contractors.
Donate today to keep the pressure on Congress to stop the relentless efforts to line the pockets of corporations, contractors, and the wealthy, and pass spending bills that put our communities first.
