Friends, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has a death grip on Congress.

Despite Americans' increasing awareness of the existential threat of climate change and the billions of dollars it will cost our economy, the "Chamber of Carbon" continues to promote junk science to prevent climate action.

One bogus study that the Chamber promoted actually claimed that "warming of even 3 [degrees] C in the next 100 years would, on balance, be beneficial to humans." Are you kidding me?

I'm leading the charge to combat this preposterous affront on our intelligence, and climate champions like Sen. Brian Schatz, Sen. Martin Heinrich, Vice President Al Gore, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, the Sierra Club and more are joining me in the fight.

It's time to create a movement against the Chamber, friends. I started Oceans PAC to take on the biggest climate villains in Washington, and I need your support to win the battle for the future of our planet.

I know people are fed up. Report after report lays out a clear signal that fossil fuels are speeding up climate change to almost irreversible levels of global warming. It's evident that climate change will disrupt the very business and financial interests the Chamber claims to represent. And still, the Chamber refuses to act.

But we can stop them. Voters tell me all the time how important it is that we break the grip of the fossil fuel lobby and reverse the tide of rising temperatures. There's a straightforward way to do that: Elect lawmakers the fossil fuel lobby can't buy.
