1. NC VALUES: đ Weâre on watch.
Last week, Governor Cooper vetoed the âFairness in Womenâs Sports
Act,â the âParents Bill of Rights,â and the âGender Transition/Minorsâ
bill. All three are needed to protect parents, women, children, and
fairness in our state. Since the announced veto, the media has been in
a frenzy to push often one-sided stories on the issues. In addition,
our legislators have become the targets of LGBTQIA2S+ activists from
across the country.Â
We need
legislators to listen to women
like Payton
and Prisha,
whose first-hand stories in North Carolina demonstrate why these
pro-values bills are needed. Since the announced veto, we have been
calling on our coalition to click-to-contact their legislators and
encourage them to vote to OVERRIDE Governor Cooperâs
vetoes.

2. NORTH STATE JOURNAL: Gaines urges legislators to back womenâs
sports in override vote
"Riley Gaines, the decorated former University of Kentucky swimmer
and Independent Womenâs Voice Advisor, said she never thought it
should be âpoliticalâ to protect girlsâ sports. In an interview with
North State Journal on Monday, Gaines made the case for House Bill
574, which was vetoed by Gov. Roy Cooper, to be enacted into law."
3. CAROLINA JOURNAL: School bill gets redesign with more parental
rights, but left-wing group calls it âassault on schoolsâ
"In an interview with CJ, Tami Fitzgerald, executive director of
the NC Values Coalition which supports the bill, stated that she
believes it will specifically help those worried about 'obscenity in
the schools and libraries as well as in the curriculums that promote
indoctrination about gender ideology.' 'Parents across North Carolina
are worried about obscenity and gender ideology being taught in public
schools to their children,' Fitzgerald stated. 'The provisions added
to SB 90 would allow parents to enforce existing obscenity statutes
against schools, would limit health and safety instruction (sex ed) to
fourth and fifth grades, would allow parents to view curriculum and
materials being used in the classroom online and in the school office,
and would require that parents be notified if their child is
exhibiting mental health issues at school, including gender dysphoria.
Basically, the bill as amended would give parents more transparency
and the ability to enforce their fundamental parental rights,'â

4. CAROLINA JOURNAL: Eagles sets Sept. 21 for next hearing in NC
abortion lawsuit
"Supporters and opponents of North Carolinaâs new abortion law
will head back to federal court on Sept. 21 in Greensboro. U.S.
District Judge Catherine Eagles has set that date for a hearing on a
possible preliminary injunction blocking portions of the law."

5. FOX NEWS: NBA is America's first Bud Light-style fiasco but
you're not supposed to know that
"The most consequential consumer boycott of the 21st century
didn't come from drinkers' rejection of a beer, it came from sports,
in particular the NBA, which has destroyed its brand with a large
percentage of the American sporting public by embracing woke,
political, far-left-wing messaging in its games. So why haven't you
heard about this despite the overwhelming data I'm about to lay out
for you? It's simple: The American sports media is so far-left-wing
that they have refused to share the data right in front of their
eyes."
Weekly Prayer: Family
LORD, we cry out to you as Father. You are a model of the love,
mercy, and authority of the perfect parent. We thank you for modeling
for us what every parent should strive for, and for creating this
wonderful institution called family.Â
LORD, we thank you for creating us with a basic nature designed
to not be alone. You made us to desire the intimacy of relationships,
and it is here where we experience joys indescribable: the joys of
marriage, the joys of having children; the joys of seeing our children
have children. What a blessing and mercy you gave us in the family! In
it we find our first teachers, our first guardians, and our first
authorities.Â
LORD, we recognize how deeply you love your children, and how
deeply it pains you when they go astray. Alongside our adoration and
thanksgiving, we pray in confessionâas individuals and as members of
larger communitiesâover any sins we may have committed that undermine
your beloved institution. Forgive us when we endanger your institution
through selfishness and arrogance. Forgive our communities and nation
for attempting to redefine some of the most basic and deepest parts of
being humanâbeing made male and female, having lifelong marriage vows
and responsibilities, and having parental rights over educating one's
children.Â
"Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved,
compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13
bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another,
forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must
forgive. 14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything
together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your
hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing
one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual
songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do,
in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving
thanks to God the Father through him." (Colossians 3:12-17)
Amen
