Next month, we’ll host our first virtual letter writing party for Virginia—I’ll be sharing more details soon! Letter writing parties are one of my favorite parts of the Vote Forward experience, as they offer a space to come together on Zoom to share our personal "why I vote" stories and write with each other for about an hour. We often have guest speakers, letter writing music, and the Zoom chat is always filled with truly inspirational stories about the power of voting and staying involved in the work to protect our democracy.
If you’ve never joined us for a virtual letter writing party, I hope you will this year! We’ve heard time and time again how helpful these events are to members of this community as a dedicated time to write and perfect their own personal story for their letters, and how motivating it is to see hundreds of letter writers from all over the country writing together.
I also want to give a huge shout out to the team of incredible volunteers who run the Vote Forward helpdesk. They review every new letter writer application and answer any questions you send via email, often fielding hundreds of requests each per day. They’re also at every virtual letter writing party to answer volunteer questions in real time, offering letter writers who attend a unique opportunity to get expert advice on the fly. They—like you—are a vital part of the volunteer force that makes Vote Forward such an incredible community.
If you’d like to help make Vote Forward even stronger and to support the work to run letter writing events, launch campaigns, and conduct the research it takes to improve this tactic, please consider making a contribution today. Grassroots donations, whether big or small, make all of the work to reach potential voters possible.
