What's in this week's Madison Liberty update? Well, there's a "Week 6" legislative recap, a movie screening, family policy, guns, and much more!
** Take a Stand
------------------------------------------------------------
This week at the Madison Liberty Institute, members of our BrushFires ([link removed]) project actively engaged members of the state legislature on important issues such as education, gun rights, Idaho families, government regulation, and more. On the student front, Spark Freedom ([link removed]) is eagerly preparing for the screening of O.U.R.'s "Operation Toussaint" ([link removed]) in Rexburg this Thursday (02.20). Our first screening for the special documentary in Idaho Falls was a huge success. And lastly, a lot of important legislation was introduced last week during week six ([link removed]) (the halfway point) of the 2020 Legislative Session. We encourage you to continue following along and get involved by contacting your elected officials ([link removed]) .
** Stand for Family
------------------------------------------------------------
Most of us can agree that the most important thing in the world to us is our family. But, not only is family important to us, family is important to society. It is at home with families where a child’s knowledge of the world around them is impacted and they decide how they will make a difference in society for the better. Plus, according to the Family Prosperity Index, the break down of the family in society has “a direct and negative impact on personal and economic freedom in America.”
The Madison Liberty Institute understands and champions the foundation on which our society was built – the FAMILY. Now is the time to take a stand for family. We must promote reforms and policies that strengthen economic freedom and sustain “the family as the fundamental unit of society.”
Will you take a stand with us in championing the foundation on which our society was built – the FAMILY?

** Bill Alert: Sex Reassignment Surgery for Minors
------------------------------------------------------------
Idaho representatives are considering legislation that would ban experimental sex reassignment surgeries and cross-sex hormones for minor children. These so-called “treatments” cause irreversible sterility and fertility---but when performed on children, it’s no different in principle than female genital mutilation, which is already prohibited by legislation passed unanimously by the legislature last year.

** Operation Toussaint Showing in Idaho Falls and Rexburg!
------------------------------------------------------------
We had an amazing turn out for the Operation Toussaint showing in Idaho falls this past week. It was exciting to see the community come together in support of putting an end to human trafficking. So far, with last week's showing, Southeast Idaho raised over $26,000 in donations for Operation Underground Railroad's rescue missions and aftercare programs!
Join us and help spread the word for our Rexburg showing on February 20th! Learn more HERE ([link removed]) .
