Don’t believe the left’s misguided hype about the Christian creative Supreme Court ruling

By: Jim Daly

OPINION:

Last week’s blockbuster Supreme Court opinion, 303 Creative v. Elenis, has unleashed a fury of criticism from those who wrongly believe that a majority of the justices have condoned discrimination against gay-identified people.

Actor Michael Imperioli — missing the point of the ruling entirely — sarcastically thanked the Supreme Court for “allowing” him to “forbid bigots and homophobes” from watching his work, adding, “hate and ignorance is not a legitimate point of view.”

Nearly all of the mainstream media’s headlines after the ruling have reinforced the Left’s false narrative. MSNBC falsely claimed that Lorie Smith — the plaintiff in the case — “doesn’t want to serve same-sex couples.” UC Davis law professor Aaron Tang wrote in The New York Times that the ruling “has opened the door to discrimination.”

Sixteen State Attorneys General File Brief Opposing Parent’s Rights

By: Jeff Johnston

Sixteen state attorneys general filed an amicus brief opposing parents’ rights and supporting policies where schools hide information about children’s sexual identity confusion from their parents.

The brief was filed in support of school officials in a Massachusetts case where parents had sued the officials and the school district for concealing their children’s struggles with accepting their sexual identity.

In the lawsuit, Foote v. Ludlow School Committee, the parents also alleged that school officials ignored clear warnings to the school by participating in conversations with their children about mental health issues.

The parents had already engaged help for their children, who were only 11 years old at the time. The parents lost their first round, when U.S. District Judge Mark Mastroianni dismissed the case last December, but they have appealed their case to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

The parents said the school violated their constitutional rights by meeting secretly with their children to engage in counseling and advocacy related to mental health and discordant gender identity without parental notice and consent; deceiving parents by using one set of names and pronouns when communicating with them and another at school; directing children to speak untruthfully by instructing them to use alternate gender pronouns and names for their peers; and nurturing distrust for parents through secret meetings.

Pro-Life Supporters: Please Pray for the Success of Issue 1 as Early Voting Begins in Ohio

By: Zachary Mettler

Early voting has begun on Issue 1 in Ohio, and it’s not an overstatement to say that thousands of innocent preborn lives are at stake.

Starting July 11, voters in Ohio can vote early in person, or by mail, for the August 8th election that will decide the fate of Issue 1.

Issue 1 is a legislatively referred ballot measure that would raise the threshold needed to change the state’s constitution from a simple majority to 60%. Issue 1 needs a simple majority to pass.

According to the official argument in favor of Issue 1, “A YES vote on Issue 1 protects our Constitution from deep-pocketed, out-of-state interests. By passing Issue 1, the People will ensure constitutional changes are widely accepted and declare that Ohio’s Constitution is not for sale.”

Issue 1 is designed to counter the extremist abortion lobby’s push to permit the killing of preborn life — at any stage in a pregnancy — this November. Abortion is currently legal in Ohio through 22 weeks of a woman’s pregnancy.

Just days ago, the well-funded abortion lobby — which hired professional, out-of-state name gatherers — submitted enough petitions to place a pro-abortion measure on the state’s ballot in November. The abortion groups — Ohioans for Reproductive Freedom and Protect Choice Ohio — needed to collect 413,000 valid signatures to place the Ohio Right to Make Reproductive Decisions Including Abortion Initiative (2023) on the November ballot. They submitted 710,131.

Pat Sajak Will Be Missed

By: Paul Batura

Longtime Wheel of Fortune gameshow host Pat Sajak announced his retirement from the iconic program earlier this month.

“Well, the time has come,” Sajak said. “I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last. It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all.”

Sony Pictures Television, the company that runs the show, didn’t waste any time in announcing earlier this week Sajak’s successor, Ryan Seacrest.

“I’m truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak,” Seacrest tweeted. “I can say, along with the rest of America, that it’s been a privilege and pure joy to watch Pat and Vanna (White) on our television screens for an unprecedented 40 years, making us smile every night and feel right at home with them.”

He continued:

“Pat, I love the way you’ve always celebrated the contestants and made viewers at home feel at ease,” he added. “I look forward to learning everything I can from you during this transition.”

Yet not everyone is feeling so convivial towards the politically conservative Sajak, who serves as chairman of the Board of Trustees for Hillsdale College, as well as a regular contributor to National Review. Writing in the New Republic, Prem Thakker trots out all kinds of attacks against the gameshow host.

No, Moms for Liberty is Not an ‘Extremist’ Organization

By: Zachary Mettler

Since they can’t win on the facts, Leftists frequently employ an alternative approach: shame, defame and slander their ideological opponents.

Just ask Brett Kavanaugh. Ask Clarence Thomas. Ask Alliance Defending Freedom.

And now, ask Moms for Liberty.

Glenn Altschuler is an American Studies professor at Cornell University. He’s also the author of a recent op-ed in The Hill disparaging Moms for Liberty as an “extremist” organization.

In reality, Moms for Liberty was founded to combat something actually extreme: the ideological indoctrination of young children occurring in schools around the nation.

Though some — like Mr. Altschuler — may try to deny such programming occurs, the Daily Citizen has well documented this fact.

To be clear, there are many good teachers in the United States.

But that doesn’t mean that in numerous places — especially more liberal enclaves — ideological indoctrination is not taking place.

It is.

Moms for Liberty was founded in 2021. Its mission is to “fight for the survival of America by unifying, educating and empowering parents to defend their parental rights at all levels of government.
