Yesterday's severe weather spawned several tornadoes across the Chicago area. Tornado warning sirens and mobile alerts were deployed in our area. Although a tornado has not been confirmed in Oswego, there have been reports of minor property and tree damage in some neighborhoods.?
It's important to have a plan in place when a tornado warning is issued. Stay tuned to a local news source and monitor alerts on your phone. Take immediate action with these tips from the?Illinois Emergency Management Agency.
If you're at home, go a safe area such as a basement or bathroom to protect yourself from glass and other flying objects. Stay away from windows.?
If you're not at home, seek shelter in the basement or interior room of a nearby, sturdy building. Do not try to outrun a tornado in your car. Leave your vehicle immediately and if no shelter is available, lie flat in a low spot with your arms and hands protecting your head.?

The Village has received questions related to the work along Woolley Road southeast of the Oswego Police Department.?
A 24-inch sanitary sewer line is being installed to connect with Fox Metro Water Reclamation District?s sewer line. The work will help prepare the area for the future Hummel Trails development that was approved by the Board in 2008 and amended in 2016. The development includes plans for businesses, single-family homes and townhomes.
At this time, the developer has not submitted a schedule or requested permits for additional work in the area.?
