The week before, I joined Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm to highlight other infrastructure investments that will go toward building a transit hub connecting Claflin and South Carolina State universities to downtown Orangeburg, creating an electric transportation hub in Charleston, and boosting electric vehicle production in our state.
These policies are what putting people over politics is all about. But John -- not a single Republican in the South Carolina House delegation voted for these initiatives. If they had it their way, South Carolina would’ve lost out on thousands of good-paying jobs.
Donald Trump promised infrastructure, but we’re the ones actually delivering it. That’s why I endorsed President Biden in 2020, and it’s why I’m supporting him again in 2024 as National Co-Chair for his campaign.
We’re making historic progress, and we can’t afford to go backward. That’s why it’s so important that we send President Biden back to the White House and win back the House Majority next year.
